Reserve and Garyville areas experiencing decreased water pressure

Residents asked to conserve water usage

ST. JOHN –The St John Department of Public Safety is asking all residents in the Reserve and Garyville area to conserve water usage throughout the day to allow the water system to recover from the extremely low temperatures experienced in the area over the past few days. The Parish is asking all residents to survey their property and their neighborhoods for possible water leaks and report them to the Water Department at 985-651-6800. Due to the large number of raised homes in the Reserve and Garyville area the likelihood for leaks to develop is increased.

Parish water, sewerage, and fire personnel are currently surveying the area for leaks.  As the temperatures continue to rise, parish officials expect full operation of the water system to resume tomorrow.

Stay tuned to Channel 15 and the parish website for further updates.
